Managing Lessons

Outreach+

Lessons are the individual sessions within a Bible study. Each lesson can be tracked independently, giving you visibility into how students are progressing through the curriculum.

Adding Lessons to a Study

  1. Open the study from the Bible Studies page
  2. In the Lessons section, click Add Lesson
  3. Enter the lesson details:
    • Lesson title — What this lesson covers (e.g., "Acts Chapter 1: The Promise")
    • Lesson number — The order in the study sequence
    • Description — Optional notes or summary
  4. Click Save

Repeat for each lesson in the study. Lessons are displayed in order by lesson number.

Marking Lessons Complete

As the teacher works through the study:

  1. Open the study detail page
  2. Find the lesson in the lesson list
  3. Click the Mark Complete button (or checkbox)
  4. The lesson will be marked as completed with the current date

Tracking Student Progress

Each student's progress through the lessons is tracked individually:

  • On the study detail page, you can see which lessons each student has completed
  • The overall study progress bar shows how far through the curriculum the study has progressed
  • Student-level completion is visible on the student's profile under their Bible Studies section

Editing and Removing Lessons

  • Edit a lesson: Click on the lesson title to edit its name, number, or description
  • Remove a lesson: Click the delete option on the lesson. This will also remove any completion records for that lesson
caution

Removing a lesson also removes all student completion data for that lesson. This action cannot be undone.

Lesson Order

Lessons are displayed by their lesson number. If you need to reorder lessons, update their lesson numbers. Gaps in numbering are allowed — the system simply sorts by number.
