Creating Classes
Classes are the foundation of your church's structured teaching program. Create a class to define what you teach, then schedule instances to actually run it.
Creating a New Class
- Navigate to Classes in the sidebar
- Click the New Class button
- Fill in the class details:
- Class name — A clear, descriptive title (e.g., "Foundations of Faith," "Baptism Preparation")
- Description — What the class covers and who it's for
- Class type — Fixed-length or Ongoing
- Number of sessions — For fixed-length classes, how many sessions the class runs
- Click Create
Managing Classes
After creating a class, you can:
- Edit the class name, description, or settings
- Activate or deactivate the class (inactive classes can't have new instances scheduled)
- View all instances of the class (past and present)
- Schedule new instances of the class
Class Detail Page
Click on any class to see its detail page:
- Class information — Name, description, type, status
- Instances — All scheduled, active, and completed instances
- Quick action to schedule a new instance

tip
Think of a class as the "what" (the curriculum) and an instance as the "when" (a specific scheduled offering). You create the class once, then schedule as many instances as needed.
