Learning Tracks
Learning Tracks organize your classes into structured, sequential pathways. They define prerequisite relationships between classes, ensuring students complete foundational classes before moving to advanced ones.
What Is a Learning Track?
A learning track is an ordered sequence of classes that creates a curriculum path. For example:
| Order | Class | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Foundations of Faith | None |
| 2 | Doctrine Essentials | Foundations of Faith |
| 3 | Ministry Leadership | Doctrine Essentials |
| 4 | Teaching Methods | Ministry Leadership |
Students must complete each class before progressing to the next one in the track.
Creating a Learning Track
- Navigate to Classes > Training Tracks (or Training Tracks in the sidebar)
- Click New Track
- Enter the track details:
- Track name — e.g., "Leadership Development Path"
- Description — What this track prepares students for
- Add classes to the track in the desired order
- Define prerequisites (which class must be completed before the next one)
- Click Save
Managing Tracks
On the track detail page, you can:
- Reorder classes within the track
- Add or remove classes from the track
- Edit the track name and description
- Activate or deactivate the track
How Prerequisites Work
When a learning track is set up with prerequisites:
- Students can only enroll in a class if they've completed the prerequisite class
- The system automatically checks completion status
- Students see the full track on their dashboard with clear indicators of what they've completed and what's next
Viewing Track Progress
Leaders can see track progress across all students:
- How many students are on each track
- Where students are in the track sequence
- Overall track completion rates
This helps identify where students may be getting stuck and where you might need to schedule more class instances.
